One quiet count. The first time Sconce opens it now tells us once, so we can see how many people are starting to use it. Details are on the privacy page.

Background sound. A collection can play a sound under its pictures: one of five that come with the app, or an audio file of your own, set per collection, with the loudness yours to move. A video takes the sound over while it plays, and it picks up where the video left off. Part of Sconce Pro.
The bordered looks draw their border properly. The four solid surrounds now hold the picture off all four edges, the way a mount should.
Fill the screen is free. It zooms a photo to cover the whole panel, it starts off, and the switch says it is a zoom.
Live previews on the Looks screen. Every look carries a preview drawn from your own photos, so you can see the choice before the television does.
Sconce notices a VPN. A VPN on the phone can stand between your TV and your pictures. Sconce checks for one and says so, with what to do about it, at the moment it matters.
Play here caught up. Playing a collection on the phone or tablet now honours the look, the fill switch and the background sound, exactly as the television would.

Collections. Pick photos and videos with your phone's own picker and save them as a collection. Set how long a photo stays up, the move from one to the next, and whether the collection loops or shuffles.
Casting, honestly. Photos are handed to the TV up front, so the television holds them: lock the phone, pocket it, and the pictures keep turning. A video streams from the phone while it plays, and Sconce says which is which the first time you cast.
The looks. A photo is fitted whole inside the screen, nothing cropped by default, over a blurred, dimmed copy of itself. Five more surrounds come with Sconce Pro.
Play here. No Chromecast to hand? The same collection runs on the phone or tablet in front of you.
A video your TV cannot play can be converted on the phone, with the phone's own video chip, and the copy is kept so it is only done once.
When nothing is playing the television holds a quiet Sconce page, then hands itself back a few minutes later.
Sconce Pro. One purchase, once. As many collections as you like, the other five looks, the order and timing yours, and a whole collection converted in one go. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.
